The Setting: A Private Weekend in Wine Country
Nestled among vineyards and framed by the quiet hills of Calistoga, the Four Seasons offered a naturally stunning canvas for Olivia and Chris’s celebration. The full property buyout created a relaxed, retreat-like atmosphere where guests could gather effortlessly and enjoy the resort as an extension of the wedding experience.
Soft neutrals, natural textures, and an organic-modern design language defined the aesthetic. Long wooden tables, sculptural chairs, airy linens, and textural florals in muted tones set a refined, understated tone that complemented the landscape rather than competing with it—all beautifully documented on film for that soft, romantic depth only analog can provide.

The Bride: Effortless Elegance in Satin
Olivia wore a satin halter gown by Grace Loves Lace, a silhouette that paired timeless simplicity with modern refinement. The fluid drape of the satin photographed beautifully on film, adding richness and softness to every frame. Her look perfectly reflected the overall mood of the day—elegant, unforced, and sophisticated.

First Look in the Vineyards
The vineyard offered a setting that was both expansive and intimate, its natural beauty amplifying the tenderness of the moment without distracting from it. Surrounded by the scent of ripening grapes and the gentle rustle of the breeze, their first look became not just a photo opportunity, but a grounding pause in the day—a chance to connect, breathe, and step into the celebration hand in hand.

Ceremony
After sharing their sweet first look in the vineyard, Olivia and Chris headed to a local Catholic church to officially say “I do.” When the ceremony ended, they walked out of the church to cheers and smiling faces, soaking in that just-married glow. Waiting for them at the curb was the most fun surprise—a vintage pink convertible that couldn’t have been more perfect. With the top down and Olivia’s veil catching in the breeze, they drove off laughing, kicking off the rest of the celebration in true, joy-filled style.

Main Character Energy
Olivia and Chris’s bride and groom portraits with their classic pink convertible were nothing short of iconic. Shot on 35mm film, the images have that nostalgic, sun-soaked quality that feels effortlessly cool and timeless all at once. Parked against the dreamy Napa backdrop, the car added the perfect pop of personality—playful, stylish, and completely them. The energy was fun, flirty, and a little bit bold as they laughed in the front seat, stole kisses over the door, and leaned into the just-married excitement of it all.

When we returned to the Four Seasons for cocktail hour, I was immediately drawn to this setup on the lawn. Framed by the modern barn’s wood façade and open doors, the lounge vignette felt like a dream to photograph—clean lines, layered neutrals, and so much beautiful texture.

Reception Details Captured on Film
There’s something about photographing a reception like this on film that feels especially poetic. The soft white canopy diffuses the late afternoon light in the most forgiving way, wrapping everything in a gentle glow that digital just can’t quite replicate. The blush taper candles, the delicate pink roses, the linen runners draped so effortlessly across the warm wood tables — film holds those tones with such honesty and depth. Such a beautiful wedding designed by Alexis Raine Events.

Golden Hour on Film
One of my favorite parts of the day is when I gently pull my couples away from the business of the reception and into that fleeting pocket of golden hour. As the sun began to dip behind the vineyards, the light turned syrupy and slow, spilling across the rows of vines in the most romantic way.

The After Party
As the night unfolded, the celebration gradually shifted, easing from candlelit romance into something decidedly more electric. Soon after, the after party began in a pink-lit cocktail bar tucked just beyond the reception space — disco balls scattering flecks of light across the walls while glasses clinked and the music pulsed low and steady in the background. Then, as if on cue, the bride reappeared in a white pant suit, effortlessly chic and entirely ready to dance, and with that, the entire energy of the evening transformed in the very best way.
